Having established a busy real estate practice under Sotheby’s exceptional brand in 2014, Glynis decided it was time to grow her business. After considering various alternatives, it was an offer from her daughter Kirsten which brought about this dynamic team. For Kirsten, changing from a legal environment to real estate had many similarities but the challenge of interacting with a diverse range of clients and marketing a variety of properties, was appealing.

The team is assisted by Glynis’ Los Angeles based daughter, a digital marketing expert, who overseas this aspect of the business. Together with advertising input from Sotheby’s marketing department in Vancouver, they offer an all encompassing marketing service to their clients.

This very relatable, vibrant mother and daughter team have a passion for excellence and work in close tandem to best serve their clients. Buyers will find them patient and knowledgeable and prepared to persist until the right property is found. They are fortunate to represent some of Victoria’s treasured landmarks.

Glynis is a multiple Gold MLS Award recipient. In 2016 she achieved the highest priced sale in the Greater Victoria area and the highest price sale for an acreage home on the Peninsula. Together with the extensive support of the unique Sotheby’s brand, she uses her skills in marketing and home renovation and her passion for real estate to provide both buyers and sellers the experience, professionalism and integrity required to market or acquire a home regardless of size or location.

Glynis brings a unique international perspective to the Victoria real estate market. Having owned and renovated homes in Canada, Scotland and her home country of South Africa. In 2003 Glynis and her husband chose to move to Victoria with their two daughters.

Glynis has garnered in-depth local real estate knowledge working in a busy real estate team. As a Victoria homeowner she has moved from an oceanfront home in Gordon Head, to the leafy suburb of Broadmead, then to an acreage property in the Mt. Newton Valley and finally to the Seaside town of Brentwood Bay.

Born in Toronto, Kirsten moved at a young age from the “big city” to a remote Scottish Highland Glen where her formative years were spent exploring this rural setting with her friends and neighbours. From this early age, relationships were important due to the remoteness of the location and the small school she attended.

After 2 years in South Africa, her family arrived in Victoria where she had the privileged experience of graduating from St. Michael’s University School.

She attended McGill University for two years where she studied English literature and economics and then returned to the West Coast where she transitioned from her part-time summer job to working full-time as a legal assistant for a successful local law firm.

Following that, two years as an assistant to Glynis made her realize that she had a keen interest in real estate. With an avid eye for statistical data, analyzing the market and communicating with friends and clients, this had become a passion.

Newly minted as a realtor she is now a vital member of the team working in close tandem with Glynis.

“I was raised on the principle that you should always work harder than those around you. Go the extra mile and do it with passion, integrity, positivity and empathy for others. Don’t be pigeon-holed by your job description. Anyone can do a good job and meet expectations, but people will remember you for the times you go above and beyond.”
